Electric Blue

Long time no post....Im so sorry but I'm back! Last week I filmed that independent comedy that I mentioned in my previous post, and had the time of my life! It was so much fun for me to get to bring myself and sense of humor to the table due to the fact that it was an independent. I like the idea of doing independents because not only does it give you confidence in front of the camera and on set, it allows you to feel more comfortable offering ideas, inspiration, and to improvise scenes freely. I am obsessed with sketch comedy, improv, and to be honest, that really annoying stupid humor that is over the top to most people. I cant get enough of it, it cracks me up! Monte Python, Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, Young Frankenstein, and Stir Crazy are among my favorite comedies of all time. The short comedy that we filmed is called "The Dead Daylight" and I was the female lead. I loved doing it and was laughing hysterically in between takes because we kept trying new and funny ways to play it. I also got to wear this awesome vintage romper that is electric blue and totally 80's. Loved it! Here are a few pics from behind the scenes...

I wanted up close because the makeup was so fun and bright, but you had to see the full get up, thus the body shot. This jump suit is vintage and Im obsessed with how fun it is! (Not sure why I felt the need to make the same face both times, but you get the picture.)
I did my own makeup and kinda went all out based on what I thought necessary for who I was in this film.
Lipstick- "Rebel" by MAC
Blush- "Pale Pink" by Bobbi Brown
Eyeliner- "So there Jade" by MAC

This wasn't for the movie, I was just being a bad girl.
Never believe me, I cant help myself...Im sorry for lying earlier...I was tied up for this scene, set in the basement of the most amazing house I have ever been in. Gorgeous ranch style home in Rolling Hills Estates overlooking the coast, I loved filming here!

Booties are from Urban Outfitters believe it or not. They are my sisters, but I have an addiction to boots and booties of all shapes and sizes!

Avery Lanman, a Yale Film student directed this film. He was an awesome director with a strong vision and did a great job. You will see him in the future for sure. The characters in the mob outfits are the other thesps, all living in LA acting for a living. This was an awesome project with some really fun personalities. Gotta love when that happens!

Independents are great avenues to make connections and show agents and industry folks that you are serious about acting and are pursuing it on your own. Every film is a learning opportunity and I cant wait to do more!

This film is for a contest at Yale and will hopefully make it to some festivals. I'll keep ya posted(:
